Our latest official release of Telerik UI for UWP features DayView support for the Calendar, expand and collapse functionality for groups in the ListView controls and more.
After the improvements introduced in the DataGrid and Chart controls in our last two releases, we put our focus on another major control of the UI for UWP suite for the R2 2018 release – the Calendar.
Let’s dive into the new scheduling like functionality of the Calendar and the improvements made for the grouping behavior of the ListView.
Introducing DayView mode in the UWP Calendar
The new DayView mode gives a great boost to the scheduling capabilities of the Calendar control of Telerik UI for UWP. Here are some of the supported features:
- Visualization of between 1 and 7 days at once on the DayView area. Switching the number of days to be visualized is easy and straightforward using a single property.
- All-day area for visualization of all-day appointments
- Convenient APIs to easily scroll to a desired appointment
- Current time indicator
- Adjustable start and end time of the day and the length between the slots
- Special slots support – you can easily customize every slot in a different way
- Convenient mouse navigation between the days
- Great customization options for the all-day area, time ruler area and more
You can find these and many more scheduling capabilities using the new mode of the Calendar.
Expanding and Collapsing Grouped Items in the ListView
Grouping is a major operation that can be performed on the source of the ListView. We have extended this functionality to provide the ability to easily collapse and expand the groups. This functionality is currently supported in StackLayoutDefinition and GridLayoutDefinition.
